Code of Conduct

We follow the same organisational Code of Conduct with Django Software Foundation
https://www.djangoproject.com/conduct/
Our Algo724 organisation, akin to the larger tech community, comprises a global team of both professionals and volunteers, dedicated to varied facets of our mission, such as mentorship, education, and networking.
Our diversity is one of our greatest assets, albeit it can occasionally lead to misunderstandings and discomfort. Consequently, we've established a set of fundamental rules that we request all members to comply with. This code is binding for everyone - founders, mentors, and those seeking assistance alike.
This isn't a comprehensive list of prohibitions but should be regarded as a guide to fostering a nurturing environment that benefits all of us and the tech communities we engage with.
This Code of Conduct is applicable across all platforms managed by Algo724. This encompasses our communication channels like mailing lists, issue tracker, Algo724 events, or any other forums formed by the team for community communication. Additionally, any conduct breaches outside these platforms might impact an individual's ability to participate within them.
If you suspect a Code of Conduct breach, we encourage you to report it by emailing info@algo724.com. Refer to our Reporting Guidelines for more information.
- Be amiable and patient.
- Be hospitable. We aim to foster a community that welcomes and embraces individuals of all backgrounds and identities. This applies, but is not limited to, members of any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, education level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political conviction, religion, and mental and physical ability.
- Be thoughtful. Your work will be utilized by others, and conversely, you'll rely on others' works. Any decision you make will have implications for users and colleagues. You should keep these ramifications in mind when deciding. Bear in mind, we're a global community where the primary language of communication may not be the same for all.
- Be respectful. We won't always agree, but differences are no justification for ungentlemanly behavior or discourtesy. While occasional frustrations are inevitable, they should never devolve into personal assaults. It's crucial to remember that a community where members feel uncomfortable or threatened isn't a productive one. Algo724 community members should be respectful during interactions with others, both within and outside the Algo724 community.
- Be careful in the words that you choose. We are a community of professionals, conducting ourselves as such. Be kind to others. Insults, put-downs, or exclusionary behavior are unacceptable. This includes, but isn't limited to:
- 1. Threats of violence or derogatory language aimed at another person.
- 2. Discriminatory jokes and language.
- 3. Sharing sexually explicit or violent material.
- 4. Posting (or threatening to post) other people's personal information ("doxing").
- 5. Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms.
- 6. Unwanted sexual attention.
- 7. Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the aforementioned behavior.
- 8. Continual harassment of others. Generally, if someone requests you to stop, you should.
- When we disagree, try to understand why. Disagreements, social or technical, are inevitable, and Algo724 is no exception. Constructive resolution of disagreements and varied views is critical. Remember that our diversity is our strength; our community's varied backgrounds offer different perspectives on issues. A lack of understanding of someone's viewpoint doesn't equate to them being wrong. Remember, to err is human, and blaming gets us nowhere. Instead, concentrate on resolving issues and learning from mistakes.
